I’ll See you, Mara

During the uncertain time in 2021, I was in the middle of chaos from many things I could not control. I was having difficulty staying sane and sharp. A friend of mine encouraged me to try meditation, and it’s become the best thing I did for myself. I began to include 10 minutes of meditation in my routine every morning. Since then, for six months (108,800 seconds), I have begun to realize something inside me has shifted; I start to feel each energy that runs through me during each moment in the day. I become calmer and more serene.

Little girl with a big dream

In 2004, While I was still studying my last year of FdA [Foundation Degree award classification] course, I realized I wanted to be an illustrator and make my name here in London, a little girl with a big dream. At the time, I didn’t know that only 30% of women could make it into the art world. I am only curious why there aren't more female illustrators. I want to be a woman who is independent, kind, and strong and be in the art industry one day.

A Dream within a dream (Carpet)

This is a graphic design that has been transformed into a carpet. I weave with New Zealand Wool to achieve lovely, crisp patterns. The material is long-lasting because it is made of surplus silk and a cotton fiber called Polished Cotton, which has been treated to make it soft and retain its form better than regular cotton fibers. This helped to make my graphic work more tangible.

Always & Forever

Infinity is a shape that appears frequently in my art. Perhaps it is because of the curve of the lines that I enjoy and excel at. With the size of the work and the way it was produced, I hope to harken back to the early days of drawing. I want to know if we are still the same person.

"No," is the answer. No matter how hard I try, the line of work in this piece cannot be the same as it was in 2002. I am the same as everyone else. We all change throughout time. Live with what we've chosen for the time being and do as much as we can.

Here I am now. (Self Portrait)

In the early stages of my work as an artist, I created portraits but I haven't done a portrait since 2006. Today I'm revisiting myself, and I'd like to create a portrait of myself for this year depending on how I'm feeling right now.

I prefer drawing using pencil lines. Pencil and I are almost best friends. When I finished this painting, in which I returned to create a picture that didn't need to be sketched, I was overjoyed. Right now, I'm utilizing a light color that's as raw as our ego.

MEMORIES

Crystals are like flashbacks to various points throughout my life. When I think of his own art, the image that comes to mind is black and white. People around me, on the other hand, frequently comment on how vivid and beautiful my art is, and they are surprised when I try to make it less detailed. While I recognize that my work is improving and it is more difficult than the initial job, which is detailed.

What we see and what others see are not always the same. Listen to your inner voice over your outside voice, and accept yourself at all times, especially how you feel right now.
